Side Table
After a few agonizing months I am excited to be showing my new side table. The pictures are of the maple prototype as it was coming together. Inspired by simple forms and a touch of wit. I've also included a few process pics.
Chair research
I've been itching to design and make a hardwood chair for a while now and came across this beautiful example of a modern dining chair. What I find especially appealing about this example is the simplicity achieved using a traditional vocabulary. My favorite part is how the spindles dive directly into the seat, not another independent part.
The Plan
I thought it helpful to post a few thoughts about the usage of this journal and it's goals and basic functions for me.
First it's a journal, therefore I'm going to post when I feel like it. NOT everyday.*
*This could change
Second, it will be open thematically. Instead of focusing merely on design (which would undoubtedly be myopic) I intend and hope to discuss many issues related to current events and whatever else is on my mind. Because when it all comes down to it everything is connected and I believe design is a wonderful way of looking at all things. Not just posters, furniture or architecture.
